JAG's excellent aluminum outer ankles arrived on Friday. Here they are with Pat C.'s ankle cylinders in place.
I am really hooked now. This is almost like an addiction. And I'm about to break the bank with these parts. Just ordered steel outer feet, aluminum outer legs, aluminum center ankle, aluminum battery boxes, and aluminum utility arms. Almost $1200 just for that batch altogether. But hey, he's gonna look great!
I sold the plywood body cylinder to fellow Nashville R2 builder Mark Ingram. I'm still without a frame, and I missed the last one on Tom Van Voorhis' auction the other day. And the local waterjet cutter wants almost $700 to cut a frame for me. So I think my first frame will be birch wood like some of the other builders have done. Maybe later I can step up to aluminum.
