This is a full scale (1:1) version of the MOSPEADA Ride Armor from the pre-Robotech Genesis Climber series. It later became Lancer's Blowsperior Ride Armor in the Robotech series. This is the "Yellow Belmont" version of the suit. There are a few other characters with similar suits that have different color schemes and weapons.

My reference was the 1/15 scale model and the 5-DVD set of the animated series.

I built a vacuum-forming machine specifically for this project. I also built all of the wooden forms/molds for all of the armor and body pieces. It has taken about 6-8 months to make the forms and pull the plastic, not counting the 6 or more months it took to build the vac-form machine before that.

The suit weighs probably 50 or 60 pounds total and requires 2 additional helpers to put it on. It is not possible to put it on by myself. It is about 7 feet tall and very top-heavy and requires great concentration and effort to walk in. My helpers/handlers must also be very close when I walk around just in case I start to fall over or snag a foot somewhere.

A friend of mine made the decals with a digital vinyl cutting machine. We scanned the original model kit decal sheet, traced the decals in Illustrator, and enlarged them to full scale.
